The Christmas Song Book Tag

So I don't know about you, but I am beginning to feel ridiculously festive. The last couple of years, Christmas hasn't felt like Christmas if that makes any sense to you. As you get older, Christmas looses its appeal, the magic seems to vanish and there are always bigger things going on in the world yo worry about. This year however, I am determined to relive the youthful exuberance that I once had this time of year, so I am going all out: garish Christmas jumpers, terrible Christmas movies, repetitive cheesy Christmas songs. Anything remotely Christmas-y and I am in there, hence the book tags.  This book tag was created by Hailsheartsnyc over on youtube so go check her out if you haven't already.

'You're A Mean One Mr Grinch,' - choose a villainous character that you couldn't help but love

This one was really hard for me as I couldn't think of a truly villainous character that I truly loved, so I have cheated a little bit with this one. I've chosen Strigoi-Dimitri from Blood Promise as I adore Dimitri in the first 3 books, and this carries on into Blood Promise as ever so often you see a little glimpse of the old Dimitri.

'All I Want For Christmas Is You,' - which book do you hope to see under your Christmas tree

I never tend to ask for books for Christmas, as if I genuinely want a book I will usually cave and go out and buy it myself. Also, people never usually buy me books as presents as they don't want to get me a book I already have. For this question I'm going to pick a book that's at the top of my wishlist however and that is The Complete Grimm's Fairytales. I have wanted a pretty hardcover edition of the Grimm's Brothers stories since I was about 11 but I really want to go all out and get a beautiful edition that can remain on my bookshelves for years to come and will withstand the test of time so I can share it with any future children I may have. This has been proving rather tricky to find the edition that I want.

'Rudolf The Red Nosed Raindeer,' - name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves

Obvious choice here, Katniss from The Hunger Games. She overcame a lot.

'Santa Clause Is Coming To Town,' - which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list, and which would be on the top of the nice list

Lets be honest, I'm going to have to go for the universally disliked Umbridge for top of the naughty list aren't I? Everybody hates Umbridge, need I say more?

And. for the second part of the question, I am obviously going to choose Rose Hathaway from the Vampire Academy series. You all know by now, I love Rose a lot.

'Frosty The Snowman,' - which book just melts your heart

I'm going to have to go with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell for this one. This book is just adorable.

'Feliz Navidad,' - choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own

Another obvious choice for this one, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, one of my all time favorite books. During the winter I love curling up with this book. At the moment I have a slight ongoing obsession with Russia, partially down to the fact I am studying the Russian Revolution for Advanced Higher History.

'The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year,' - which holiday book do you use to spread the Christmas joy

I can't think of any specific festive books that I've read, but at the top of my tbr at the moment is My True Love Gave To Me, that gorgeous book by 12 different YA authors that you will have seen everywhere recently.

'Sleigh Ride,' - which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with

This one doesn't have to be a love interest but lets be honest, that's what I'm going to pick. I'm going to go with another favorite that I'm constantly talking about, Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster. I just feel like he is someone who could make you feel all cozy and protected when its cold outside.

'Baby It's Cold Outside,' - which book that you didn't like would you sacrifice in a fire to keep yourself warm

Another obvious one for me, it would have to be Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I don't know what it is but I just really don't like this book.

'Do You Hear What I Hear,' - what book do you think everyone should read

The Harry Potter series. These books have something in them for everyone, and if you haven't read them, where the heck have you been?
